Easy Sheet Masks for Mama “Me Time”

Life is pretty hectic lately.  Our family has been on the road and in an out of airplanes, which for me means sad, dry, tired skin. As I’ve said before, I look for products that are naturally based. From household items to skincare, I think differently about what I buy with three kids under 6 touching everything I use around the house (sometimes that includes my beauty products). So when I get the chance to steal 5 minutes to myself, I love to throw on a sheet mask and collapse onto the couch for some uninterrupted “me time.”

I found Burt’s Bees years ago. I’m a big fan of their lip balms, and was so excited when they branched out into skin care and beauty. So, when they told me they were launching sheet masks, it made sense to partner with them to share my experience with you. And I found their Hydrating Sheet Masks and Rejuvenating Eye Masks perfect for my low maintenance, on-the-go lifestyle.  The masks are clinically proven to improve skin texture and help balance pH.They’re made of 99% natural ingredients including kiwi extract and willow bark that help keep dehydration at bay. The mask’s clary sage acts as an emollient that helps the mask to hydrate my dry, well-traveled skin. The masks work wonders.

After our nightly bedtime stories, I like to tuck my kids in and sneak away for a little pampering. Sometimes I lock myself in my room or even throw on my mask while watching a movie. Anywhere that is is going to help me achieve bliss and relaxation! The mask helps strip away the stresses of the day and leaves my skin refreshed for the morning. Afterwards, my skin looks almost as “rested” as it did before children.

In addition to being made with 99% natural ingredients, the masks are alcohol, paraben, and petrolatum-free, which as a mom of little ones, I personally love knowing that they are made of ingredients I can trust. The masks are non-comedogenic and have been tested by dermatologists. My favorite part of any Burt’s Bees products? They never test on animals. Oh, did I mention the packaging is made of 100% post-consumer recycled content? This truly makes my inner hippie sing. Burt’s Bees, how do I love thee!

Burt’s Bees’ Hydrating Sheet Masks can be found everywhere, which is super convenient for a busy mom like me. I don’t have to go hunting for skin perfection, because the sheets are available at Target, CVS, and Ulta Beauty. Want them delivered? You can simply order them from the Burt’s Bees website and they will arrive straight to your door.

I’m always looking for good face masks! I usually prefer peel off masks, but paper ones are my second choice. I didn’t know Burt’s Bees has branched our this fat! Thank you!

Hey Gen, I’m a hippie too! (You’re significantly younger than me, so I thought you might not know that it’s hippie, not hippy. Unless you’re referring to your hips, which I highly doubt!) Keep up the good work! I love that Odette is missing a sock, btw. It’s a perpetual state of existence for her age-group!

??‍♀️ I meant ‘branched out this FAR!’ Yikes.

I love Burt’s Bees products, too! I have a question, though…I have an oily t-zone, even in my late 40’s. I’m always concerned with hydrating products causing breakouts. Any advice in this area?

OOOH can’t wait to try them!

This is what I need…. I’m 50 and my skin has changed …. so dry. There are so many products I never know what to try. This is on my list

They even sell them at Walmart (atleast from what I’ve seen, as a cashier at Walmart) and I have considered buying them, but between school and work and doctors appointments (currently experiencing knee problems OUCH!) I can’t find time to relax. Most days I get up, get dressed, have a small breakfast, and then run out of the house to wherever I need to go before classes or work and then straight to work.

I plan on giving these a try being 58 my skin tends to be dry a lot. Can’t wait. Thanx Gen. You are so beautiful

Thank you for this review on this mask. In France there is this brand, but I don’t know if they sell this mask. I’m going search. I would like to try. Do you know if this mask is suitable for oily skins ?
    Have a good day.

Love Burt”s lip balms and recently started using their night cream. Always had sensitive skin and it’s getting good more so as I age. At 50 years old the slightest chemical in a product causes severe problems. I’ll be heading out this evening and find do me some of the mass to try. Thank you. Enjoy your blog very much.

Dear Gen, I really really appreciate what you are doing. Your #randomacts post inspired me to set up a bigger thing. Its the #1yearofkindness challenge. I’d love to see many people rolling along with it, because kindness matters and nowadays there is to little of it on this world. Please help me making #1yearofkindess a big thing to spread kindness the entire year. Visit @teamfreewill2k17 for further information.

Please stop acting like you don’t have help raising your kids. You’re unemployed and still spend half your life getting hair and makeup done.

I didn’t know burts bees had masks until your post. I tried the hydrating mask and loved the result. Thanks for the tip. Especially since they are reasonably priced.

I’ve already wondered about Burt’s Bees but didn’t know that much about it now with these reviews I’m definitely going to give Burt’s Bees a try.

  • Natalia

Have you tried a Jade rolled with your Hydrating mask? Is extremely relaxing and helps the product from the mask penetrate dipper into your skin!

  • Valerie Lynn

I’ve been reading your other posts and LOVE your advice! I just want to add there are numerous other organic options in face and under eye masks. Not that I’m trying to disprove the effects of Burt’s Bees.
One of my faves, that you’d probably also enjoy is by LAB for you called Juice up Pumpkin mask. Another is actually a vegetarian one: MUSTUS Daily Harvest Squeeze Energy Up Mask Pack. Then there’s Labotica Green Tea Skin Soft Mask. Two from BRTC Vitamin F and Vitamin C masks, and one from frecipe {not sure if there is a space between the f and the rest of the word, its hard to decipher because its such elaborate cursive}; rose jelly bomb extract.
Just thought you’d like to try a few more options, or at least explore what they are online {in all your free time, right?} LOL ? there’s also a hyaluronic collagen sheet mask by Ebanel which has a plant derivative in it. But, I’m not 100% sure if all the ingredients are safe for kids. That’s something you would know Gen.
At least now you have more information about the options available to you, in this wide world of sheet masks. I hope I’ve helped in some small way. Take care ~ Val
