For our June N&G Book Club Pick, we chose Animal by Lisa Taddeo. She is the first author we’ve featured twice, and for good reason. Her books are always beautifully written and thought-provoking, and I love that she tackles topics that are taboo. In Animal, Lisa creates a 360-degree picture to show a character who is “unlikeable,” but readers see the trauma that plagues her at the same time. 

Our Book Club conversation was so much fun. Talking to Lisa is like talking to an old girlfriend. She’s so smart and clever. The way she can string a sentence together is word porn!
