Running with Purpose: Miles For Dream Big!

We are a week away from the Boston marathon and I’m feeling READY to cross that finish line—and kiss these early morning runs goodbye. I’m hoping I can inspire you to join me in my final training push. Not only do I need the encouragement, but together we can do even more to help girls achieve their athletic dreams. How, you ask? I’ve created a special Now & Gen 5K Challenge with my friends at Strava. (P.S. they are donating to Dream Big! on behalf of each new Strava registrant!)

All you have to do is join me in the challenge click here and complete at least one 5K (aka 3.1 miles) between now and Sunday, April 21, 2019. The more miles we log as a collective community, the more significant impact we can make towards this important cause.

Every challenger who completes the 5K challenge gets digital bragging rights with a custom badge and warm fuzzies knowing that your participation is helping young girls forge their athletic futures. You’ll also be eligible to enter to win a RunPadsRun hoodie signed by Jared and I (winner chosen at random).

Want to sit this one out? (Trust me, I get it.) Lucky for you, you can still donate at this link and do your part without having to do ANY of the sweating. You can even curl up in your bed and watch Netflix and STILL be a part of the team.

    That was a great video, Odette is getting SO big and adorable! I’m a sahm to a 2 and 4 year old girls. I wanted to bring them down to watch the marathon and cheer everyone on but with predicted rain I don’t think my 2 year old will last unfortunately. But you’re gonna kick butt Gen! Such an inspiration.

    Lady O is growing up so much! Tears of joy during this video! It sent me back to my volleyball and dance days in high school. I joined Strava when you posted about the group. It really helps seeing everyone encourage each other. I’ll be cheering you on this weekend! Love you to the moon.

    Sadly I can’t do any running but I am with you in spirt all the way, as well as having donated.

    You can do this, and if you don’t make it to the finish line, there is absolutely no shame in that. You have already done so much for this cause, for getting women out there and energised. You should be very proud of yourself.

    You and Jared are so generous of spirit, you put your money (and your bodies) where your mouth is. I am so proud of you both.

    Totally love this. It gave me the ecouragement to work out in this sweaty summer weather. Did a 3km walk today while listening to this spotify podcast called ‘Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls’ cause it somehow perfectly fit into the mood. Being a swimmer and volley ball player myself while growing up, I so apperciate this intiative. Sports can be an incredible learning experience, and the world need more of Serena Williams, Paula Radcliffe. Marie Kom and so on. Good luck to you and Jared for the Marathon.
