5 PERFECT FALL SWEATERS

Is it really November already?! I can’t believe how fast fall has flown by. Between carpools, the boy’s weekend sports and mommy & me play dates with my baby, it’s hard to remember to slow down and enjoy the little things.

One of my favorite little things about this time of year: sweater weather. Growing up in Montana and Idaho, I learned to embrace the chill and love an excuse to curl up in some cozy knits. I’ve rounded up some of my favorites here. You’ll notice most of them are cardigans. These sweaters have become my must-have layering piece for fall in Austin—where temperatures can go from 80 degrees to 50 degrees in a matter of hours.

I love that I can easily throw them on over a dress, jumpsuit or button-down when the temperatures dip. And they’re a fun way to add unexpected color and texture to an outfit.

Scroll my favorites below.

  1. Boden USA Sweater, $110

A vibrant lightning bolt gives a basic merino blend crewneck some major character. I love the pops of color—and fashion that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

  1. Marc Jacobs Chunky Cable-Knit Cardigan, $575

A neon blue hue and oversized buttons gives the classic cable-knit fisherman’s sweater a modern twist. It’s perfect to throw on when I’m taking the kids to the park on cooler days.

  1. H&M Knit Cardigan, $18

This is literally my go-anywhere, do-anything knit for fall. And it’s affordable enough to stock up on more than one, so I can even leave an extra one in the car in case one of my kids spills on my sleeve or gives me a hug with muddy fingers.

  1. J.Crew Demylee Cardigan, $188

This super soft, slouchy knit is effortlessly stylish and versatile enough to be worn year-round.

  1. Self Portrait Cable-Knit Cardigan, $355

This cozy cable-knit has a cropped silhouette and two-way zipper for easy styling. I like that I can wear it zipped up with denim and boots for a more tailored look or unzip it as a slouchy, off-the-shoulder wrap over a flowy maxi dress.

I am in love with your color palette!! These are absolutely beautiful. My favorite fall color this year is the goldenrod shade. Going back to your post about adding yellow, I’m definitely experimenting with that shade.

Hey I really appreciate because I live on the mountains in southern Utah where the average temperature is 40 degrees. Thanks for the ideas!

Oh, I really like these. Great colors.

The light blue one really looks good on you — I might try that shade. So sad gold washes me out.

I love the blue sweater but their is no way i can afford that shirt with that price. Maybe i can find one just like that for 30$ at target.

Cable knits are the cuddle-monsters of good sweaters❤️❤️ In Scotland and Ireland a family wears their own cable knit design! They get a Crest, a plaid AND a sweater! Everyone should do this for their family in every country! A family sweater pattern. Absolutely love that plan!!????❤️

I know what you mean about the temperature change! The Monday after ACL was one such example. While you are rugging up in readiness for winter, I am looking forward to warmer weather down here in Australia.
