3 Prints to Wear This Fall

Happy fall! I know, I know, it’s already mid-October and I’m a little late to the party, but it’s just now starting to cool off here in Austin and I can’t wait to finally indulge in a little fall fashion. It’s my favorite style season. The warm colors, luxe plaids, cozy knits, leather boots and structured coats—it’s everything I love.

And in the spirit of mixing things up (hello, Gen Z yellow), I’m reaching for more prints and patterns to update my closet. These three caught my eye. They feel fresh, yet totally classic, and are entirely easy to add to your everyday wardrobe.

Here are the prints I’m most looking forward to wearing this season. What would you add?

POLKA DOTS

This print sometimes feels too retro, but new fall collections feature bolder patterns and modern silhouettes that make them feel fresh. I like to pair them with slightly more masculine accessories (say, sneakers with a minidress or a chunky men’s watch with a cashmere sweater) to balance out their feminine sweetness.

Boden Cashmere Sweater, $190

19 Cooper Woven Romper, $84

Cynthia Rowley Shift Dress, $425

PLAID

I’ll blame it on my 90s grunge days, but I have a soft spot for plaid. It’s the quintessential fall print and it feels endlessly versatile—from girly mini skirts to everyday button-downs.

Revolve Darla Plaid Pants, $68

Thomas Maier Checked Mini Skirt, $425

Rails Hunter Plaid Shirt, $158

ANIMAL PRINTS

Animal prints can be a intimidating, but I love how they add a little fierceness to any outfit. Go wild with a head-to-toe print jumpsuit or keep it tame with a simple patch on a shoe or an easy layering piece to throw on under a blazer.

Golden Goose Printed Running Shoes, $227

TopShop Animal Print Jumpsuit, $40

Saks Fifth Avenue Cashmere Sleeveless Top, $175

I am in love with plaid! I have so many plaid flannels for the fall. I also enjoy wearing tie dye all year long too. A black turtle neck sweater with a flowy tie dye cardigan is my favorite combo! Love you, Gen. Thank you.

Omg I love the animal print shoes. They could totally add pop to an outfit.
So what you think about doing a boots blog. Knee and mid high boots are my fav, But style varies. Cowboy, leather, biker, I don’t care the style. Boots can go well with any kind of outfit. (Well except evening wear?)

Always love your fashion posts! I was happy to see stripes in your suggested buys. I adore stripes. They are so versatile, classics, bold, and go with every season. Simple yet colorful stripes are my favorite for fall.
